Schedule Information: Includes evening and weekend work

Work Conditions: Work is primarily indoors and sedentary in nature

Duties of Position: Teach weekly classes to non-credit students and enrolled in community education classes.

Collaborate with other instructors.

Organize and maintain consistent teaching schedule.

Prepare lesson plans.

Complete student assessments.

Participate in promotions and marketing activities.

Integrate technology into the delivery of instruction.

Attend department and faculty meetings .

Be active on social media outlets for the purpose of promoting the program .

Educational Requirements: Formal training and degree/s in your discipline is required with a Bachelor's degree. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience Requirements: 1-3 years of successful prior teaching experience in a college or high school setting required.

Experience and passion for working with people including young children, adults, seniors and community organizations.

High level of proficiency in one or more of the following different writing styles: fiction, nonfiction, scriptwriting, comedy, poetry, song, professional development, technical, blog, article writing, essay writing, copyediting, indexing, business writing, children literature, creative, essay, documentary, memoir, playwriting, TV writing, etc.

Ability to communicate ideas, concepts and demonstrate techniques to people of different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels.

Must have a strong commitment to teaching and a genuine interest in the life-long development of individual students.

Must have excellent communication skills, responsive to emails, open to new ideas, self-starter and willingness to promote and market his/her own classes.

Ability to teach more than one discipline is a plus.

Ability to teach online is required.

Ability to use one or more of the virtual meeting apps such as WebEx and Zoom is required.

Experience in Blackboard is desired.

Must be comfortable with email, social media outlets, and texting.
