Description
The College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts seeks to establish a pool of qualified applicants for future, part-time lecturer appointments. Part-time lecturers teach one to five courses at the undergraduate level in different modalities, including face-to-face and online.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct all class sessions according to schedule.
  • Provide instruction, activities, assignments, and assessments to adequately cover all Student Learning Objectives for the specific course(s) taught.
  • Use teaching methods that emphasize application, cooperation and collaboration, and engage students actively in their studies while encouraging them to become independent learners with higher-order thinking skills.
  • Organize and explain content using methods which are appropriate to students with differing abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural experience.
  • Assign and provide timely feedback for in- and out-of-class work, monitor students' progress and maintain accurate records of students' performance.
  • Perform adequate assessment and analysis of assessment according to college requirements.
  • Reflect on and evaluate the effectiveness of one's own pedagogy.
  • Ensure timely submission of all reports to appropriate office(s).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Part-time lecturer positions are temporary appointments, assigned per semester and on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications
Minimal Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in one of the disciplines housed in the college (Art and Design, Communication, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Journalism and Media Studies) OR Master’s degree in a related field
  • Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level

Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Experience teaching international students
  • Experience tutoring or working in a learning center
  • Prior relevant experience as a professional in one of the PSFA disciplines

Compensation

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer - 12 month Classification is available based on the following ranges:

Lecturer A (Range 2 ) - $5,168 - 6,946

Lecturer B (Range 3) - $6,190 - 13,797

Lecturer C (Range 4) - $7,102 - 15,145

Lecturer D (Range 5) - $8,964 - 15,864

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
