Senior Software Applications Developer

The Senior Software Applications Developer position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Enterprise Data and Solution and will partner and collaborate with business departments to provide application support, integration, digital form development, and workflow automation services for students, employees, and business units. This position will serve as an application and data subject matter expert within the college. This is an important role that requires expert technical skills, attention to detail, and an ability to provide excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Support existing systems and develop new solutions to automate and simplify processes for business partners.
  • Collaborate with business departments to determine requirements, and conduct all necessary development, testing, and post-launch support.
  • Develop documentation for all developments.
  • Support integration across various platforms using service-oriented technology or API development as appropriate for optimizing business processes and extending system functionalities.
  • Provide on-demand data analysis and reporting to answer critical data questions or diagnose major data issues.
  • Verify data integrity and promote data standards in cross-system data mapping and data transformation practices.
  • Provide 2nd tier helpdesk support as required.
  • Creating and supporting web forms as required.
  • Analyze, develop, and implement best-of-breed solutions for business needs, researching new developments and solutions available.
  • Provide superior user support for user account management and business process support.
  • Collaborate with PMO, project team, and external stakeholders to effectively execute UAT test plans by establishing clear test objectives, test scenarios, and follow-ups.
  • Remain current with best practices and developments in the industry.
  • Complete any necessary administration work.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS - Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field required
  • 5-10 years of previous web services development experience required, including experience with API, data connectors, ETL data transformation, and Oracle development to provide real-time data integration with 3rd party cloud-based or legacy file transfer mechanisms
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required

  • This position is generally sedentary in nature, movement throughout the college is required as necessary to troubleshoot issues and provide assistance.
  • Ability to have continuous oral and written communication with co-workers and supervisors is essential.
  • Repetitive movements, occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds, reaching, lifting, climbing, stooping and the ability to read a computer screen, detect color-coding and read fine print will be expected.


WORK ENVIRONMENT - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
  • General office conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels


COMPENSATION

Starting salary for this position will be between $ 95,848 - $ 119,809 commensurate with experience.

This position is a Hybrid role with one mandatory day in the office each week. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Boston campus in order to ensure operational effectiveness.

Grade of Position: S-23-12E

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25

This position will be exclusively represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 888 for purposes of wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
