We’re currently searching for an Associate Director for Student Experiences and Lead Engagement Engineer to join the Student Engagement and Campus Life team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. Here’s what you need to know about the role:

1) You’ll be joining the Student Engagement and Campus Life team; a department centered on uplifting the student experience by cultivating affirming environments, promoting holistic well-being, and providing exceptional services, programs, and facilities.
2) You’ll be reporting to the Director for Student Engagement and Campus Life, on a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment. 
3) You’ll be responsible for leading a team of full-time professional staff members, graduate assistants and undergraduate student staff that build meaningful events, programs and experiences for all students including university programming boards, traditional campus events and departmental programming such as signature events, graduate student programming, series programs and excursion programs.
4) Partner with Director and other Associate Directors to further the development, enhancement and assessment of three student centers, the University chapel, campus events, student organizations and student development training and education, creating strategic plans and developing budgets.
5) You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
6) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $72,500-$75,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications

● Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or a related field
● Strong supervision philosophy, skills, and experience
● Above average communication and organization skills to manage multiple priorities and projects at the same time
● Team-oriented, demonstrated adaptability, initiative and creativity in program design and promotion
● Demonstrated commitment to student success with a passion for designing student experiences and a commitment to student success, learning and inclusion
● Demonstrated experience fostering diverse and inclusive environments and establishing positive, productive working relationships with diverse groups of constituents including students, staff, and faculty

Preferred Qualifications

● Progressive professional experience in planning and implementation of programs, supervision of professionals, advising student organizations, and review and negotiation of entertainment contracts
