Job Summary:
Provides senior leadership and vision for Career & Workforce Education Division (CWE) in collaboration with Provost & VP of Academic Affairs. Serves as a key member of Academic Administration (AA) team. Responsible for administrative oversight and management of day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and growth of CWE in collaboration with faculty, directors, staff, academic leadership, and other departments. Oversees programmatic accreditation.

Essential Functions:
1. Exerts visionary leadership and operational management in development and operation of CWE, including credit, non-credit, and contract training.2. Develops divisional goals and enrollment targets with program directors and AA. Monitors enrollment. In collaboration with Student Affairs, plans student recruitment and advising activities.3. Supervises CWE faculty and staff. Recommends faculty appointments, approves course assignments and faculty load. Approves CWE course schedule.4. Oversees new CWE program development, including program feasibility studies, curriculum development, and equipment and facilities needs analysis. Develops articulation agreements.5. Collaboratively with program directors and faculty, ensures highest possible standards for program quality and currency; oversees curriculum development and revision efforts to assure appropriate and relevant content. Assures accuracy and currency of marketing information and program information in print and on website.6. Drives continuous improvement efforts through use of data-informed decision-making.Assures regular and systematic program review and assessment of student learning, and leads efforts to meet student success goals (e.g. retention and completion.)7. Develops and oversees CWE budgets, grants, reports, and agreements. Prepares and delivers presentations for a variety of constituencies as assigned. Responsible for Carl D. Perkins CWE grant projects.8. Investigates and resolves student complaints in accordance with policies.9. Serves on committees as assigned, including all CWE advisory committees. Represents CWE in community, as liaison with partners, colleges, business/industry, and others. Serves as liaison with Michigan Talent Investment Agency - Workforce Development.10. Oversees programmatic accreditation; works collaboratively to establish and maintain accreditations and assure compliance with accreditation standards.

Other Duties:
1. Performs other duties as assigned by the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required, including strong oral and written communication skills, diplomacy, and the ability to work with all disciplines, levels, and backgrounds. Ability to direct and manage multiple priorities, utilize effective time management skills, and exercise sound administrative judgment. The successful candidate will exhibit exceptional strength in strategic thinking, analysis and problem solving, organizational leadership, collaboration, and a results-oriented vision and focus.

Accountabilities:
Under the limited supervision of the Provost & AP of Academic Affairs, position is accountable for providing oversight and leadership of the CWE. Directly supervises CWE program directors, faculty, and staff. Represents the CWE and College with internal and external constituencies.

Job Specifications:
Minimum of a Master’s degree required. Three or more years of academic leadership experience in higher education required; community college experience preferred. Two years of work experience in a discipline found within the division or credentials necessary for vocational certification preferred. Excellent interpersonal, management, computing, and leadership skills required. Exceptional record of accomplishment in direct occupational experience or academic leadership. Demonstrated competency in managing change in complex environments. Collaborative decision making or similar training strongly preferred.
