Job Duties
Protects life and property and enforces the Commonwealth's laws and regulations of the University within appropriate jurisdictional confines. Conducts campus patrols, investigates complaints, suspicious activities, and crime/traffic accidents; makes arrests and issues citations; Gives court testimony and initiates written reports. Operates police communication equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have obtained certification as a Law Enforcement Officer mandated by the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). Must be proficient in the use of department issued firearm and must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely. Must be able to maintain the required knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively perform the duties necessary to enforce the criminal and traffic laws of the Commonwealth and maintain DCJS certification.
