VCU Parking and Transportation is an auxiliary unit, managed by VCU Facilities Management. Employing over a little more than 100 employees, the department is divided into the following units: Operations, Enforcement, Special Events, Customer Service, Accounting, Fleet, and Transportation. Every day, we are able to provide parking and transit solutions for just over 50,000 students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

VCU Parking and Transportation has multiple exciting Enforcement and Safety Supervisor opportunities.

The Enforcement and Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing operational staff of the department whose functions include: special events, parking enforcement and safety, and transit services. The incumbent acts as the daily point of contact with internal and external customers utilizing services provided by parking and transportation and within the university community, as they pertain to special events, transportation, or enforcement. The Enforcement Supervisor ensures compliance with University, state, and federal policies, and that all Operations' services are delivered efficiently, reliably, and with service excellence to the VCU and VCU Health System communities.

Minimum Hiring Standards
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record that contains 0 or + points required
  • Satisfactory completion of criminal history background check required
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills; communicating with sufficient clarity to be understood by others on the telephone, radio, or in-person
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, holidays, and shift work
  • Must have the ability to successfully complete all training
  • Ability to interact with coworkers to accomplish the goals of the department and possess the ability to handle multiple incidents simultaneously, set priorities, and professionally and calmly handle stressful situations on a daily basis
  • Advanced computer and time management skills required
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to the cash operation of parking facilities, including proper cash handling practices and documentation; ability to reconcile and audit daily cash receipts
  • Ability to learn RideCell software systems and successfully manage multiline telephone system and dispatch services
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Hiring Standards
  • Supervisory experience in a parking and transportation operational position preferred
  • Cash handling and customer service experience in a university setting preferred
  • Knowledge performing basic daily maintenance and operation of pertinent equipment
Required Licensure/Certification
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record that contains 0 or + points required
