The Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation (HHPR) at Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of HHPR.

Pittsburg State University is an accredited, comprehensive, state-supported institution in southeastern Kansas, enrolling approximately 6,400 students annually. The Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation (HHPR) provides both undergraduate and graduate programs for students from the four-state region of southeast Kansas, and portions of Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. The department has over 400 majors, offers undergraduate degrees in Recreation, Physical Education, and Exercise Science, a graduate degree in HHPR, and has 11 full-time faculty members. Position Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation at Pittsburg State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Preferred applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in Hospitality Management/Administration or a closely related field, and have at least one degree in recreation, parks, tourism, or a similar field. ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and the ability and desire to contribute to a strong multifaceted program that actively involves undergraduate students. Teaching responsibilities include courses required for the B.S. in Recreation Services, Sport, and Hospitality Management, specifically in the area of Hospitality Management. Additional expectations include a commitment to student success, advising students, active involvement in professional organizations, and service to Pittsburg State and the surrounding community.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Ph.D./Ed.D. in Hospitality Management/Administration or a closely related field.
• Teaching and advising experience in a university setting.
• At least one degree in hospitality, recreation, parks, tourism, or a closely related field.
• Broad knowledge and interest in teaching a variety of recreation courses.
• Work experience in Hospitality Management/Administration or Recreation field preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Ph.D./Ed.D. in Hospitality Management/Administration, Recreation, or a closely related field. ABD will be considered.
• At least one degree in hospitality, recreation, parks, tourism, or a closely related field.
• Experience in a university setting and/or work experience in the Recreation field is required for consideration.
