Assistant Professor of Mathematical Sciences (1-year term) - Two Openings

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at DePauw University invites applications for two one-year term positions beginning August 2023 at the rank of Assistant Professor. While a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field is preferred, ABDs will also be considered at the rank of Instructor. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting and evidence of effective and inclusive teaching are essential. The department specifically seeks candidates to teach introductory courses in mathematics and other core courses in the major as required. Teaching assignment is three courses in Fall and three in Spring. Funding is also available for professional development and research with undergraduate students.

Candidates should submit through Interfolio a cover letter summarizing qualifications, teaching philosophy, and research interests; CV; evidence of effective teaching (such as sample syllabi or course evaluations); three confidential letters of recommendation; and unofficial graduate transcripts. Applications with pending confidential letters of recommendation will be given full consideration, however, submission will be required prior to on-campus interviews. Official graduate transcripts will be required before/at the time of appointment.
