Ball State University’s Division of Online and Strategic Learning welcomes applications for a part-time multimedia designer, working .75 (3/4) time.
The multimedia designer conceptualizes, designs, and executes effective, cohesive, and impactful multimedia graphics and animation for programs and courses. This professional is responsible for all design aspects of projects, from research to delivery, as well as adhering to and bringing to life Ball State’s brand to various viewers.

Position Function
The part-time multimedia designer is a member of the Teaching Innovation Team and conceptualizes, designs, and executes effective, cohesive, and impactful multimedia graphics and animation for programs and courses. This position will also support the Division of Online and Strategic Learning at-large, with content for social media, e-mail, web, and other channels. This Multimedia Designer is responsible for all design aspects of projects, from research to delivery, as well as adhering to and bringing to life Ball State’s brand to various viewers. The multimedia designer looks at curriculum, instruction, and marketing challenges in a fresh and unique way, and collaborates with key stakeholders meaningfully and effectively.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum Experience
At least one year of work experience in a similar role as demonstrated by a portfolio of multimedia design content showcasing skills and experience.
Minimum Other
At least one year of experience using software design programs including Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to collaborate on long-term and short-term projects. Excellent knowledge of storyboarding, visual design principles and animation. Artistic, with a keen eye for aesthetics and visually appealing content.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas or processes to a broad array of audiences. Ability to adhere to high standards of quality and accuracy while managing multiple projects and deadlines. Enthusiasm for learning new technologies. Experience with brainstorming ideas and concepts for new projects and working collaboratively with other team members.

Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in graphic design, digital media, or related field.
Preferred Experience
At least three years of work experience in a similar role as demonstrated by a portfolio of multimedia design content showcasing skills and experience.
Preferred Other
At least three years of experience using software design programs including Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with web development software or platforms such as HTML5, WordPress, or other web content management systems. Knowledge or experience with using analytics or market research to help guide design choices. Knowledge or experience working within a Learning Management Software such as Canvas.
