Professor Of Practice - Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering

Location: 130 Earle Hall

Description

The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Clemson University invites applications to fill a full-time or 9-month Professor-of-Practice position in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering to begin Aug 2019 or Jan 2020. The Professor will be primarily responsible for coordinating senior design projects and teaching course topics that include process design and unit operations laboratory, as well as other topics that match the background of the applicant. The position will be appointed with a one-year contract, renewable annually. Primary duties will include identifying appropriate design projects and overseeing student groups in the capstone senior design course, teaching other chemical and/or biomolecular engineering courses, assisting with the selection and design of unit operations laboratory equipment, and contributing to the core graduate and undergraduate teaching and research missions of the Department.


Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree with at least 15 years of industrial experience and/or research in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering or a closely related field, and be committed to work in collaboration with colleagues in the Department as a teacher and possibly as a researcher. The candidate must have some leadership experience and be capable of effectively and respectfully communicating with engineering students about the skills needed to succeed in industry.
