Instructor, Certified Production Technician (CPT) Course - Adjunct

Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.

Under general supervision, this individual will prepare and teach the MSSC approved Certified Production Technician curriculum to students enrolled in the Workforce & Continuing Education Training program. The purpose of this training is to equip students with the necessary occupation-specific and employability skills needed for success in career pathways in advanced manufacturing.

Education Required:

• High School Diploma, or equivalent

Education Preferred:

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Education, or other related fields from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• MSSC Authorized Instructor. Authorization/certification to teach MSSC Certified Production Technician (CPT) or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Experience Required:

• Three years working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Two years of technical/engineering/mechanical experience.
• Teaching and/or industry training experience in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars.
• At least one year of supervisory experience

Experience Preferred:

• Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
• Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems
