Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, or a related field of study
  • Experience with substance misuse counseling.
License/Certification Required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The CRC Coordinator will further the mission of Wellness and Prevention Services in serving the diverse needs of Appalachian State University students through health promotion and risk behavior modification services.

More specifically, the position will provide an opportunity to serve the Appalachian campus by facilitating pro-social activities, conducting individual and group counseling for students engaged with the Collegiate Recovery Community at Appalachian State University, and publicizing the Collegiate Recovery Community and Collegiate Recovery Community events.

Duties of the position include:
  • Providing individual counseling to Collegiate Recovery Community affiliated students
  • Providing support group and group counseling to Collegiate Recovery Community affiliated students
  • Coordination and facilitation of substance-free pro-social activities
  • Publicizing the CRC and CRC events
  • Support current and future CRC -related grant opportunities
  • Development, facilitation, and evaluation of CRC Ally training
  • Co-supervise CRC interns and CRC peer mentors
  • Assist the department in the development of appropriate prevention education opportunities tailored to special populations on campus
  • Create, implement, and evaluate services designed to meet the unique needs of various student groups, such as minoritized races, ethnicities, sexualities, and genders, transfer students, veteran students, and students in recovery from addictions
Suggested Salary Range
42,500 - $49,920
