General Description
Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for an Assistant Director for Campus Activities in the Overman Student Center.  The primary function of the Assistant Director for Campus Activities is to be responsible for the organization management, strategic planning, budgeting, advising, and program management of University co-curricular engagement opportunities. This may include the coordination of a comprehensive Fraternity and Sorority Life system, leadership training, major weekend activities, and/or oversight of activities organizations (the Gorilla Activities Board and Homecoming Committee).


Duties and Responsibilities of Position

  • Oversee up to two organizations: the Gorilla Activities Board (programming board), the Homecoming Committee, and/or Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL)
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of at least two campus-wide events
  • Support general Campus Activities operations
  • Manage and maintain budgets

 

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, Administration, or related field.  (Two years of full-time, professional experience in student affairs or related graduate work may be substituted for education, as determined relevant by the University.)
  • One year of experience designing, coordinating, facilitating, and evaluating co-curricular activities and programs (graduate work in this area is acceptable)
  • One year of experience advising student groups (graduate work in this area is acceptable)

 Preferred

  • Experience with risk reduction, investigation, and conduct adjudication
  • Experience supporting, engaging, and expansion with culturally Greek letter organizations
  • Experience working with talent agencies and negotiating contracts
