Research Assistant- Center on Health Disparities

Position Summary:

The research assistant will work closely with the Director of Evaluation and Assessment, assisting in data collection and analysis, report and publication writing. The research assistant will successfully implement and meet the deadlines for all assessment activities. Major responsibilities are performing data collection and analysis including data collection scheduling, survey creation and administration, data cleaning, using quantitative and qualitative data analysis software (Excel, SPSS, NVivo) to analyze data collected, presenting the analysis results, results interpretation and write-up, contacting evaluation and study participants, and other duties as needed.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate and carry out designed evaluation/research projects. Assist in evaluation/research activity materials development, including participant recruiting materials. Contact potential participants for evaluation/research activities, evaluation/research activity schedule planning. Perform literature reviews, assist with data collection tasks including onsite/event observation, individual/group interview, survey, fieldwork or other data collection techniques.

Required Qualifications:

Experienced program evaluator or research analyst beyond university coursework requirements in program evaluation and research, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, management and analysis of longitudinal data sets, and survey development. Experience as a program evaluator or research analyst. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and collaboration skills. Excellent analytical skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Experience in research methodology and data analysis required. Strong organization, writing, and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail. Valid driver's license. Regular and reliable attendance is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree.

Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.

Demonstrated data collection skills (e.g. interviewing, observation, focus group moderation, and surveying).

Proficiency with relevant quantitative and qualitative data analysis platforms (e.g. Excel, SPSS, NVivo).

Experience with data management and analysis.

Experience writing evaluation and research reports.
