Job Description
The Research Assistant Professor in Justice Studies will teach mostly undergraduate-level courses and at times may teach a graduate course. This person serves as the undergraduate criminal justice program coordinator; participate in service commitments related to undergraduate programming and coordination; will research and publish research findings.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate-level courses and at times graduate
courses.
- Serve as undergraduate criminal justice coordinator (prepare
course schedules, advise students mentor students, organize career
fairs, student recruitment, work to improve graduation rates, time
to degree, student retention, and student placement in the field or
related fields post-graduation; facilitate access to high impact
practice learning for students; other duties as assigned).
- Engage in, produce, publish and present findings at
professional conferences on issues related to juvenile justice, and
criminal justice.
- Participate in service commitments within the department,
college, university, and the profession.
- Doctor of Philosophy in Juvenile Justice, Criminal Justice,
Criminology or closely related discipline.
- At least one year of undergraduate teaching experience.
- Candidates that are A.B.D. will be considered.
- Candidates with only a J.D. degree will not be
considered.
- Preference will be given to candidates with research interests
in juvenile justice and able to teach criminal justice courses
throughout the curriculum.
- Effective virtual online instruction ability.
- Ability to publish independently.
