Position Summary
The Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology is a full-time, tenure track position, nine-month position that requires teaching, scholarship, and service. The teaching role includes curriculum development/implementation and mentoring students in the Clinical Counseling master’s program.
Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities
Expected course load: Teach 24 credit hours over the academic year (9 months) Expected course responsibilities: Teach core courses in the program, both on-ground and
online delivery formats. All courses taught to graduate students. Expected to integrate Christian faith within courses and responsibilities.
Specific Departmental service expected: Provide leadership and guidance to the Clinical Counseling graduate program in collaboration with department Chair, Program Directors other members of the Counseling Psychology department, including attendance at departmental meetings.
Provide leadership in collaboration with the Program Directors in expanding the Clinical Counseling program, particularly in the area of online curriculum development.
Advise students: Serve as faculty advisor for assigned students, assisting in mentoring and oversight of advisees’ progression toward degree completion, in collaboration with other Department faculty and staff.
Participate in departmental responses to student issues in collaboration with other faculty and staff.
Participate in formative student activities (e.g., recruitment events, New Student Orientation, graduation events)
Participate in recruiting and training adjunct faculty and teaching assistants. Provide leadership for procedures with accrediting bodies, including reviewing reports. Stay abreast of current trends in the fields of counseling and psychology Engage in scholarship activities relevant to a practitioner-scholar and in keeping with
university requirements for promotion and tenure progression. Participate in university service: Participate in university committees, assignments, and
functions as required of a full-time faculty member. Serve the larger community as opportunities arise.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
1. Earned doctorate in Counseling, Psychology or a related field 2. Teaching experience at graduate level (including online) 3. Professional experience and credentialing in the discipline 4. Scholarship record/potential befitting practitioner-scholar model 5. Knowledge of programs, including licensure/certification processes (Licensed
Professional Counselor and Licensed Behavioral Specialist) in Pennsylvania, and nationally (Board Certified Behavior Analysts)
6. Effective interpersonal skills 7. Ability to self-organize 8. Ability to problem-solve
