Description:
Columbia, Missouri Day Campus seeks an Adjunct (part-time) instructor to teach our ARTS 120: Drawing I and ARTS 222 Drawing IIcourse in-seat in the Fall 2023 semester. ARTS 120 is scheduled to run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:20-2:20PM and ARTS 222 is scheduled to run on Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10:10AM-12:10PM in our drawing studio.

ARTS 120: Drawing I introduces students to draw from direct observation. Some of the major topics covered include: basic concept and drawing techniques, proportion and measurements, basic form and symmetrical structure, modeling (light and shade, value scale, value contrast), gesture drawing, plainer analysis of human form, foreshortening, portrait, composition, skeletal and muscular structure, subtractive method, cropping, and scale.

ARTS 222: Drawing II expands the figure drawing experience by using the figure as a compositional element and explores a variety of media and drawing techniques. Prerequisite: ARTS 120.

Qualifications:
MFA or a terminal degree in Drawing, or a closely related field, is required. Candidates with knowledge of professional practices and collegiate experience teaching foundation-level drawing courses is also preferred.
