Position Summary

The Student Services Advisor will provide assistance to the CHHS Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Academic Advisors, and students in the College of Health and Human Services in direct support toward meeting GI 2025 goals and targets. They will assist with tasks associated with Student Success programs and initiatives such as reviewing student records, tracking enrollment management needs, identifying CHHS students requiring additional support and provide outreach and communication to students on behalf of the Assistant Dean and CHHS academic advisors. The Student Services Advisor will also assist in the creation of information sheets, program MAPS, CANVAS announcements for students and student surveys along with providing assistance to advisors in the preparation of preparing letter and communication to incoming and newly admitted transfer students and identifying students who have not registered for courses. They will review and update advising materials and school web pages to ensure information is up to date and will assist the Assistant Dean with identifying target populations such as students on Academic Probation, Disqualification and students in the pre-major with 60+ units.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.

Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.

Department Summary

The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) faculty, through advising, teaching, and supervising, offers students a balanced education of academic study, field placement, clinical experiences, and research opportunities. CHHS consists of the following schools: the School of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, the School of Nursing, the School of Social Work, the School of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences, and the School of Public Health.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field. Specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,764 per month.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,764 - $4,604 per month.
