The starting faculty salary range is $58,157 – $66,736 for a 1.0 FTE, 168-day, fiscal year contract. LBCC offers a comprehensive benefit package.

This position is subject to Article 31 of the Faculty Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. In the event of a reduction in force, this position may be afforded less protection than non-Article 31 faculty. Position Title: Cooperative Work Experience Coordinator Division/Department: Advanced Manufacturing and Transportation Technology Division Location Albany Campus, Albany, OR Job Summary:
Facilitate and support all aspects of workforce partnerships, program communication, student work site placement. Focus on maintaining current and then actively work to foster new industry partnerships. Oversee logistics related to faculty assignments, faculty oversight of their assigned students, faculty worksite visits, and faculty assessment of student work assignments. Develop and maintain a college Credit for Prior Learning Program. This will include working with faculty, administration and private businesses ( CLEP, for example) to develop new methods and strategies for evaluating prior student learning and determining appropriate credit equivalencies, and a method to award credits. Maintain interdepartmental relationships, track and document student work time, maintain accurate records, and oversee all program budgetary and financial responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree, preferably in one or more of the following areas: Workforce Development, Industrial Education or related Career Technical Education ( CTE ), Career Counseling or Human Relations or related field. Successful applicants must have the ability to collaborate with community employers, public agencies, other college departments and faculty/staff. Having an understanding of the K-12, Community College, and the Workforce continuum/relationships will help candidates seeking this position. Experience with facilitating work experience/internships as an educational tool to improve employment skills and enhance the learning of course outcomes is a must. Candidates should have competency in curriculum development, classroom teaching, outcomes assessment, and knowledge of strategies and techniques in career planning and job search. Applicants must understand the value, interplay, and demand for academic, technical and employability/character skills and the role they serve employers and how each can be demonstrated and strengthened through a CWE experience. Preferred Qualifications: Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Requires the ability to work with staff and students.

Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.

Essential Duties:
  1. Develop LBCC’s Cooperative Work Experience ( CWE ) educational plan in alignment with the college’s strategic plans, goals, core themes, values and vision. Identify program metrics in partnership with LBCC management and faculty.
  2. Market the CWE program to employers, faculty/program departments, and students. Focus growth of the program as the economy and job sectors change, and advocate for appropriate/necessary funding per LBCC vision.
  3. Collect and use data and other relevant strategies to evaluate program effectiveness and affect changes where needed. Create new ideas/partnerships to strengthen the CWE program.
  4. Foster and support employer, government and industry relationships for CWE and related LBCC purposes. Provide for effective selection and development of career exploration opportunities, learning sites, positions, and supervisors in partnership with LBCC employers and collaboration with faculty and program councils.
  5. Direct the creation, negotiation, and execution of affiliation agreements to ensure proper learning outcomes and coordination of key resources between the college and employer/site personnel. Assist site supervisors/employers with development of learning objectives, goals, outcomes, and appraisal tools and feedback.
  6. Inform/Communicate with employers our CWE policies and procedures, and develop processes that fulfill college obligations (Learning Outcomes) in partnership with employer sites in addressing student feedback, complaints, or personnel or performance matters of concern.
  7. Provide instruction to students and staff on the definition of goals & expectations for CWE, and importance of CWE .
  8. Conduct needs assessments with students in order to align skills, attributes and interests with work-based learning sites.
  9. Coordinate the CWE /Service Learning Agreement, Learning Objectives, mid-term assessments and the final evaluation with cooperative employers/agencies, program faculty and students.
  10. Assist employers and students in defining learning objectives to be completed during the work site placement.
  11. Identify, develop and maintain an effective program (curriculum) for the promotion of CWE value within the college and designated departments.
  12. Work with assigned departments and programs to integrate CWE into course offerings and program design.
  13. Counsel students to resolve issues and remove barriers, advice and support students to achieve their career, professional and academic goals.
  14. Work as a team member with other CWE Coordinators to improve programs, expand services, and assist in the development of materials.
  15. Serve as a liaison for information, communication and problem solving with college staff, students and employers in the community.
  16. Ensure that every student that participates, receives a career growth opportunity through a viable work site placement that is committed to provide on the job skill building related to the student’s program.
  17. Ensure that all workforce site experiences are structured to enhance the participant’s employability and understanding of course curriculum.
  18. Develop and maintain a college Credit for Prior Learning Program.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
