Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Faculty - Rank to be determined (CFPCA) - Journalism at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

The College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts at Wayne State University seeks applicants for a one-year appointment in Broadcast Journalism in the Department of Communication.

We seek an excellent educator and mentor to teach three courses in both Fall and Winter semesters. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and advise undergraduate broadcast journalism students in classes such as Broadcast News Writing and Digital Editing as well as TV News Reporting and Digital Editing and manage the audio-video editing lab. The successful candidate may also teach courses throughout the journalism curriculum, such as media literacy, news writing, news editing, digital photojournalism, journalism history, journalism law and ethics, or layout and design.

Qualifications:

MA in journalism, media arts, communication, or related field; recent experience working in broadcast journalism or related position; plus two years of experience in university-level teaching.

Experience working with diverse student populations in an urban setting is a plus.
