Overview
Utah State University (USU) in beautiful Logan, UT is looking to hire an Academic Belonging Program Coordinator (Program Coordinator II) for the Office of Academic Belonging & Learning Excellence.

The Academic Belonging Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of Academic Belonging & Learning Excellence within the Student Achievement Collaborative. In this position, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead and innovate programming that supports academic belonging for all undergraduate students throughout the USU system.
• Collaborate and represent the unit on various committees focused on academic belonging, including those focused on DEI efforts and initiatives.
• Make an impact in the lives of first-generation college students.

Responsibilities
Aggie First Scholars Administration and Coordination

• Hire, train, and supervise student staff, including: Student Coordinator, Team Leads, and Mentors.
• Utilize data to track progress of all first-generation college students and to inform management and further development of AFS programming.
• Lead the AFS Faculty Advisory Committee in developing additional programming and curriculum.
• Recruit incoming and freshmen students to AFS.
• Recruit continuing students as mentors and leaders within the program.
• Supervise the coordination of all AFS activities and events.
• Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the USU system to support first-generation students.
• Teach USU 2160 (a leadership and mentor development course).
• Support faculty who are responsible for USU 1050 instruction and curriculum development.

Student Support Services (TRIO) Success Coaching

• Support SSS/TRIO participants who plan on future graduate/professional school through mentoring and monthly activities and workshops that assist project participants to apply to, and obtain financial aid for, graduate school.
• Attend weekly TRIO staff meetings.
• Provide other assistance as requested by the TRIO Project Director.

Academic Belonging Leadership

• Aggie Advocates program development, implementation, and maintenance.
• Data analytics and assessment of academic belonging programming and outcomes.
• Represent academic belonging on appointed campus committees and working groups, including those with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree
• Involvement in student support and/or success programming within a higher education setting.
• Displayed communication skills including the ability to effectively convey information verbally and in writing.
• Exhibited attention to detail in planning and executing student events and programming.
• Proven computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite programs, and a willingness and ability to learn additional computer software programs.
• Successful supervision of marketing, fundraising, and grant-writing in support of student programming.
• Demonstrated innovation and adaptation of strategies to improve programming outcomes.
• Committed to providing an equitable and accessible standard of care for all USU students.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge regarding Utah State University services, academic policies, procedures, and resources.
• Trained in data analytics utilizing Banner, ARGOS, CIVITAS, and Tableau (or comparable systems).
• Experience leading or supervising a First-generation college student program.
• Participation as an instructor, mentor, and/or trainer within higher education.
• Spanish speaker.
• First-generation college graduate.
