Job Description

The College of Arts & Science seeks a business manager to manage all fiscal, HR and administrative operations of several large and widespread university departments and oversee a team of support staff.

Primary duties of this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare business analyses, provide financial input for program expansions, implementation plans for new programs, and the design and implementation of changes to existing programs. The position will have direct oversight for the successful accomplishment of these tasks for a several departments (portfolio) under the College of Arts & Science.
  • Manage and monitor portfolio budget in collaboration with the Dean’s office business team, including financial planning, accounting, HR, operations, and space management for the entire portfolio.
  • Develop and implement fiscal and operational policies at the departmental level in compliance with the college and university policies and procedures. Prepare, maintain, and reconcile all operational, gift, grants, and contracts budgets and associated accounts. Management of funds from a variety of sources.
  • Present pertinent fiscal and operational information in various ad-hoc reporting formats to support decision making at all levels of hierarchy.
  • Provide administrative leadership to create a high performing team by target training, coaching, evaluating performance, disciplining, and leading staff within assigned areas of responsibility. Payroll processing and verification, graduate student stipends, student awards and waivers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for complaints, inquiries and issues requiring interpretation of policies and procedures or interfacing with campus authorities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Dean’s space planning team to manage facilities, space planning, equipment, and vehicles maintenance. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial oversight including ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Represent the various department directors at departmental, college or campus level meetings. As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and priorities of the University of Missouri.
Salary

Salary Range: $48,900.00 - $62,971.00

GGS Grade: 09E

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or other related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in fiscal oversight, HR, and management of employees. Familiarity with university processes and systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, Workday, etc.).
