Provide circulation services, reference services and library instruction for the Clermont campus. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s core value of Service Excellence; respect, competence, responsiveness, and collaboration, in all interactions

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Provide general reference services as scheduled at the South Lake Campus.
  2. Schedule and provide library instruction for college classes and community groups.
  3. Supervise Library Assistants and Student Assistants as directed
  4. Act as library liaison for college faculty and staff.
  5. Maintain library statistics reports and assessments.
  6. Assist with materials selection and deselection.
  7. Serve on college-wide committees.
  8. Represent the college on regional and statewide committees as appointed.


Qualifications

EDUCATION : MLS from ALA accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE : Experience in providing general reference services and formal library instruction.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Knowledge of general reference sources.

Ability to effectively instruct library users in the use of print, non-print and electronic resources.

Ability to exercise human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with students, faculty, staff and the general public.

Supervisory experience and experience with automated circulation system desirable.

Knowledge of HTML or HTML editing software desirable.

Ability to demonstrate the four College Service Excellence Standards of respect, competence, responsiveness and collaboration when interacting with students, employees, visitors, and community members.
