Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Institutional Effectiveness assists in planning, organizing, coordinating, and administering activities and initiatives in support of the Office of Planning and Effectiveness (OPE). Key responsibilities include data collection, analysis, and reporting, as well as providing support for the University’s accreditation and state authorization activity. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness (IE) and working collaboratively within the Office of OPE and across the University, the Assistant Director helps support the institution’s planning and effectiveness functions and contributes to fostering a culture of collaborative and data-informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities ● Works with the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness to coordinate activities and

initiatives that inform the University’s effectiveness in achieving its strategic priorities and planning goals.

● Supports the work of Strategic Planning by aiding in the collection of and reporting on progress toward University goals, as measured by strategic plan metrics.

● Assists in managing the OPE survey administration, including analysis and distribution of results.

● Provides support for the institution’s specialized and institutional accreditation activity, including data support, analysis and report completion.

● Assists with the institution's state authorization activity, including data collection, analysis and reporting.

● As directed by the AVP for IE, collaborates with the Office of IR and other stakeholders to conduct research that both informs continuous improvement at the University and reflects best practice in institutional planning and effectiveness.

● Provides guidance and training to the University community on effective ways to use IR/IE data and reports for continuous evaluation and improvement within their own units.

● Serves on institutional committees as requested by the COS/Vice President and/or Assistant VP for IE.

● Attends University meetings and events as required.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ● Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Master’s preferred. ● Experience in higher education with compliance reporting and data sources (i.e. IPED)

preferred. ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google applications, and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau). ● Experience working with and manipulating large data sets in Excel and/or statistical software. ● Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, research design

and use of statistical analytical software. ● Excellent organization and documentation skills. ● Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and in diverse groups. ● Ability to prioritize and manage multiple and varied projects and initiatives. ● Ability to produce accurate and high-quality reports in a fast-paced environment. ● Strong oral and written communication skills as demonstrated by the preparation and

presentation of research reports and data that communicate complex information in an easily understood manner.
