The Master of Science in Nursing, Entry Level (MSNEL) program at St. Catherine University invites applications for an 11-month contract, Assistant Professor position.

St. Catherine University nursing faculty educate students to develop the knowledge, technical skills, and professionalism they will need to be compassionate and successful nurses and leaders. Our nursing programs and curricula are delivered in an environment that embraces multicultural and social justice perspectives, relationships, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the liberal arts. The MSNEL degree option is designed for individuals who have earned a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field and want to make the transition into the nursing profession. Our nursing master's degree students are committed to innovation, ethical leadership, and social justice. MSNEL faculty envision the future of nursing and implement innovative educational programs that prepare outstanding professional nurses.

Responsibilities:
  • Foster a culture of inclusive excellence through authentic relationships with students as an educator and mentor.
  • Monitor and assess student-learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance.
  • Collaborate with a small group of faculty to deliver high-quality instruction.
  • Deliver content in online, in-person and/or hybrid formats.
  • Assess, design, teach, and evaluate curricular content and learning experiences to promote student learning outcomes.
  • Maintains curricular integrity by ensuring course content promotes achievement of course student learning outcomes .
  • Participates in recruitment, orientation, and advising activities
  • Teach and advise a diverse student population, modeling socialization to nursing roles, and referring students to appropriate university services.
  • Provide clear, timely, and specific evaluative feedback to students about course assignments and/or clinical performance.
  • Engages in scholarship activities that develop expertise and ability to fulfill faculty responsibilities.
  • Contributes to professional development of faculty colleagues through peer review, mentoring, consultation, and scholarship activities.
  • Serves on department and/or University committees.
  • Collaborates with nursing faculty, Program Director, Associate Dean of Nursing, and Dean of Nursing to establish and accomplish short- and long-range goals for the nursing program.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in nursing with evidence of tested experiencea


OR
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing AND master’s degree in related field with evidence of tested experience
  • Licensed or eligible for unencumbered license as a nurse


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in nursing preferred


OR
  • Doctoral degree in related field AND master’s degree in nursing with evidence of tested experience
