Applications are being accepted for the position of assistant registrar.  The assistant registrar serves students, faculty and staff by informing and adhering to academic policy and requires working in a collaborative manner and displaying initiative while providing exceptional customer service. This position processes academic petitions and critical forms related to student data and registration, assists with student record management and oversees the transcript fulfillment process. This position works with students, faculty, and staff by serving as the first point of contact for the Registrar’s Office, answering questions, explaining regulations and policies, and liaising with appropriate offices across campus.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

High school diploma. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of data entry and records maintenance processes. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively and respectfully with Cornell students and employees, as well as families and prospective students, in person as well as via email or phone. Excellent organizational skills, with attention to details and deadlines. Software and computer skills, including word processing, data entry, database management, and demonstrated abilities with database/spreadsheet software (Excel and MS Access) and website maintenance. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Experience within Higher Education setting is preferred. 

Work Location & Conditions

The position is expected to work in person on campus in Mount Vernon.  The hiring pay range for the position is $18-$20 per hour.
