The Post Doctoral Research Fellow will work in collaboration with Brent Langellier and other research team members in support of the program of research. Broadly, the incumbent will focus on advancing the program of research by developing, carrying out, and publishing research advancing the state of knowledge regarding diet and health disparities.
Essential Functions
- Designing, implementing, and documenting diet and health disparities research
- Writing papers as lead or co-author
- Actively participating in collaborative research meetings
- Presenting study findings at scientific meetings
- PhD or Doctorate in Public Health, Sociology, Demography, Systems Engineering, or a related field ; or Equivalent
- Experience working with public health survey and/or social survey (e.g., Census Bureau) datasets required
- Proficiency in R, SAS, Stata, AnyLogic, or other statistical programs as needed
- Experience with complex analyses including cross sectional and longitudinal social, health, and dietary survey data; experience with spatial analyses (particularly related to the food environment and urban transport) is desirable.
- Very detail oriented, extremely organized, and comfortable with multitasking.
- Possess excellent oral, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Team oriented and experienced working with diverse groups of investigators, trainees, and students.
- Experience developing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
