Cloud Infrastructure Administrator

Position Summary:

As the Cloud Infrastructure Administrator, you will be responsible for helping to design and implement Rowan University’s cloud infrastructure. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise System Administration, you will be a member of the team responsible for supporting the cloud environments as well as applying your skills to help support the various services offered by the team.

Position Description:

● Define, implement, and support cloud infrastructure (AWS & Azure).
● Collaboratively work with clients within the University’s various business, academic, and operational units across the University to understand their business requirements and convert them into solutions while continually identifying areas needing improvement and presenting creative ideas to meet customer needs.
● Ensure day-to-day effective systems operations, including patches, upgrades, routine automation, security, troubleshooting, and technical support for all users.
● Analyze infrastructure performance in order to resolve problems or make appropriate recommendations.
● Ownership and responsibility for various other System Administration related roles as applicable.
● Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, operational procedures, and architectural documentation.
● Perform capacity planning for projected future growth.

Position Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or 4 years equivalent work experience.
● Five years of system administration experience.
● Experience leading cloud adoption and/or using Amazon Web Services such as EC2, EBS, Lamda, and S3 or equivalents.
● The ability to balance long-term projects and strategic initiatives with short-term emergent requests.
● Strong, demonstrable experience leading systems/technical teams through various phases of growth.
● Advanced oral, written and presentation communications including the ability to present technical information in a way that non-technical audiences will understand.
● Ability to excel when working with multi-functional teams on complex IT projects.
● Strong analytical skills with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Cloud certification for AWS or Azure.
● Certifications related to operating systems (Windows or Linux), server hardware, or enterprise storage systems.
