Summary:
This position will ensure all departmental providers are credentialed and licensed through the completion of full credentialing as well as provider enrollment with VCUHS Medical Staff Services. This team member will serve as a resource to other leaders and staff as needed, helping to solve problems, distribute information and share expertise. This position will also provide administrative support to the Department Chair, Department Administrator, HR Administrator and other leaders within the department. This position will oversee a variety of projects, events, and activities in coordination with the Administrator, Chair, and others. Finally, this position will provide support to the finance teams through basic procurement and purchasing activities as well as support basic university HR functions in the department.
Required Education & Experience
- Associate's degree and 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Outstanding organizational, time-management, and customer service skills; extremely strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while juggling multiple priorities
- Must be willing to come in early certain days of the week (generally Mondays and Thursdays) for meetings with surgical leadership
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated credentialing, fiscal, and/or human resources experience strongly preferred
- Experience working in an academic medical center
