Met Media Senior Graphic Designer

Salary for Announcement

The Hourly Rate for this temporary position is $25.00 per hour.

This position is a Temporary position that is not benefits-eligible.

Position Summary

The Senior Graphic Designer serves as the visual storyteller of Met Media in the Center for Multicultural Engagement and Inclusion. Met Media is seeking an energetic candidate, who loves all things design. This person will craft and curate Met Media’s overall visual presence. This position is responsible for creating content on various websites, publications, digital and social media platforms, ensuring that content is compelling, accurate, relevant, current, and consistent with Met Media. The ideal candidate will be passionate, self-driven, and a highly organized individual with a thirst for aesthetics and a passion for creating.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Create visual content that is informative creative, engaging, relevant and compelling.

  • Design marketing and promotional materials.

  • Research and present new ideas, trends, strategies, contribute to marketing plans.

  • Assist management of content on Met Media Website.

  • Abide by Met Media and university brand and color standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Exceptional visual storytelling ability and experience developing clear, concise, and key message-focused communications.

  • Demonstrated ability to consistently capture the voice of a brand/person.

  • Deadline driven.

  • Highly organized and dependable; able to multitask, work quickly and effectively manage numerous deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills.

  • Dedicated to producing excellent work and excellent customer service.

Required Qualifications:
  • Passion for graphic design.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Customer service experience.

  • Entrepreneurial minded with the ability to work confidently and independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Extremely proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications or other graphics editing software.

  • Familiarity with social media marketing channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn, as well as emerging channels like SnapChat, TikTok, ClubHouse.

  • Superior verbal, writing, copy editing, and proofreading skills.

  • A talent for critical thinking, creative problem solving and multitasking.

  • Generates graphics across all platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with project management, prioritization, timelines, and ensuring on-time deliverables.

  • Additional training/professional development in the following areas: social media strategy and implementation, search engine optimization, content management systems, HTML, and video editing.

  • Experience working in a web content management system.

  • Experience with videography and video editing.
