Summary
Assists with the internal seed grant programs and acts as the interface with other UH startup related activities. Evaluates and analyzes market potential for startups and conducts business plan reviews. Manages the UH Startup mentor network and support with the startup development programming activities. Manages the tracking of the university's startup portfolio and database including acquisitions and initial public offerings.
Job Duties:
1. Conduct research and examination of the startup ecosystem to best understand where and how
entrepreneurs can be contacted and engaged for participation in relevant UH Technology Bridge events and
programs
2. Coordinate multiple members of the OTTI team execute various startup development program events,
ensuring impeccable quality and detail orientation.
3. Serve as a first point of contact for UHTB startup members to address the needs of this community, often
liaising with other members;
4. Support the recruitment, evaluation, support, and onboarding of new members
5. Spearhead event planning and execution of programming for both community and external events in
collaboration with the UHTB team members
6. Collaborate with the University of Houston marketing and communications team to ensure effective and
consistent messaging, collateral, and promotion of all events;
7. Develop marketing content, including prose, photos, and videos, for social media channels, website, and
newsletters to highlight the Houston ecosystem, UH Technology bridge and its startup members
8. Manage the mentor network for the UH Technology Bridge and assist with operations of the Venture Mentor
Services program at the UHTB
9. Assist with the Chancellor’s Technology Bridging Fund program, a $2m 5-year seed grant program to help
faculty commercialize emerging technology.
10. Identifies UH technologies and inventors who may be good candidates for a startup.
11. Coordinates with the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship, Red Labs, and other UH startup activities.
12. May be responsible for setting goals for the startup portfolio within the overall OTTI strategy.
13. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications :
Bachelors and 3 years experience
Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job related experience.
