The Graduate College of Social Work (GCSW) at the University of Houston, a Carnegie Designated Tier One Research University, invites applications for part-time, non-tenure track adjunct faculty. At the GCSW, our vision is to achieve social, racial, economic, and political justice, local to global. We invite applicants whose teaching advances the social work profession and contributes to achieving this vision.

The GCSW is the largest graduate social work program located in Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States.

Our MSW program is ranked in the top 10% of all social work programs nationwide and offers face-to-face, hybrid, and online curriculum options. Our MSW program includes a strong focus on and commitment to social justice and anti-racism. As a graduate-only College, the GCSW serves approximately 550 MSW students. This application is for a pool that will be available to the search committee for consideration in case the need arises for the 2023-2024 academic year. Fall teaching assignments will typically be assigned by June 1, and Spring teaching assignments will typically be assigned by December 1.

Qualifications :

All adjunct faculty in the Graduate College of Social Work are required to have a Masters in Social Work degree from an accredited institution. A minimum of two years post-graduate practice is required. Prior affiliation with the GCSW and/or residence in the Greater Houston region is preferred. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to the GCSW’s vision and identify how their teaching contributes to this vision.
