Position Summary:
Records most receivables, including departmental deposits and student accounts payments. Performs outreach and customer service to students. Assists with the billing of tuition & fees.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assist customers who call, email, or visit in-person with
questions or requests
- Process payments on student accounts
- Process departmental and electronic deposits
- Balance drawer and update the Daily Cash Report
spreadsheet
- Prepare bank deposits
- Monitor and process NSF transactions and TouchNet ACH
returns
- Perform collection efforts on balances due from both current
and former students
- Process payments from collection agencies
- Assist with sponsor billing and post sponsor
payments
- Review and maintain holds on delinquent accounts
- Perform backup responsibilities for other student accounts and
accounting positions
- Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or equivalency
- Experience: Two years of customer service and accounts
receivables (or equivalent experience)
- Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and
customer service skills
- Ability to patiently, diplomatically and professionally respond
to and diffuse challenging customer situations
- Ability to receive remittances, make correct change, and issue
proper receipts accurately and promptly
- Strong proficiency with technology, especially Microsoft Excel.
Ability to thrive in a paperless environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and have the ability to meet
deadlines and balance competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent record keeping and digital file maintenance
skills
- Ability to work independently as well as to establish and
maintain harmonious relations with staff, faculty, students, and
parents
- Ability to reside in or perform work primarily in
Oregon
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of college with course work in accounting,
bookkeeping, and Microsoft Excel (or equivalent
education/training)
- Cash handling experience
- Banking experience
- Higher education experience
Typical Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Typical work is performed indoors in a normal office environment. Some work may be completed remotely.
