Position Description

The Department of Health, Exercise Science and Recreation Management (HESRM) at The University of Mississippi is seeking applications for a nine-month non-tenure track position as Instructional Assistant Professor to serve in both the Sport and Recreation Administration (SRA) and Sports Analytics programs. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in sport management, sport marketing, sport business, or closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with experience and/or expertise in statistics, data analysis and evidence-based decision making, experience in sport or athletic administration, and/or a history of developing and teaching online courses. The successful candidate may begin as early as August 2023.

The successful candidate will develop and teach in-person and online courses, maintain expertise in pedagogy and assigned areas of teaching, monitor student progress, and assist with student recruitment, retention, and graduation. Other duties may include assisting with curriculum revision, growing partnerships in the sports industry, and serving on departmental committees. HESRM ( http://hesrm.olemiss.edu ) is home to sixteen faculty, four staff members, and approximately 900 students from around the world. HESRM currently offers three undergraduate programs (Sport and Recreation Administration, Exercise Science, Public Health), four master’s degree programs (online Sport Analytics, Sport and Recreation Administration, Exercise Science, MPH), and a Ph.D. program in Health and Kinesiology with four emphasis areas (Sport and Recreation, Sports Analytics, Exercise Science, Public Health).
