Purpose of Position

The Coordinator for Diversity, Outreach and Recruitment represents our intentional commitment to these ideals. The successful candidate will help us to make an impact across the region and beyond and to ensure all students have equitable access to post-secondary education and the necessary tools to complete their programs and be prepared for life and work.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined recruitment territory (30-40 high schools, 3-5 community colleges, and 8-10 weeks of travel) and develop partnerships with community agencies and groups.
  • Represent NKU at at high school visits, community college visits, community events, college day/night programs, etc.
  • Counsel prospective families about postsecondary options and recruit them to NKU, assist with customer service and respond to the Office of Admissions email accounts.
  • Facilitate individual and group information sessions.
  • Partner with the Assistant Director of Admissions Outreach, Recruitment and Diversity in developing and implementing a recruitment plan to reach diverse communities.
  • Implement multicultural recruitment/yield events: Multicultural Leadership Conference, Community Partners Day and Partnership Programs.
  • Utilize SLATE, NKU’s Client Relationship Management ( CRM ) tool, to monitor inquiry, applicant, admit and confirmed statistics.
  • Serve as the liaison with the Center for Student Inclusiveness.
  • Supervise student intern and/or graduate assistant(s).
  • Bachelors degree and 2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience and interest in working with diverse populations to promote higher education.
  • Excellent communication with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Superior customer service experience.
  • Experience and/or interest in the recruitment and training of volunteers.
  • Requires travel during and after normal business hours to represent the University at recruitment events and activities. Driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
