Visiting Assistant Professor (one-year contract, non-renewable)The DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY AT LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MARYLAND invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin in August 2023 (one-year contract, non-renewable). The person hired for this position will be expected to teach four sections per semester of PL201: Foundations of Philosophy (8 sections total). PL201 is an introduction to philosophy course that introduces students to basic problems of western philosophy (epistemology, metaphysics, and ethics). The course also places an emphasis on exposing students to foundational primary texts, including Plato and Aristotle.Required Qualifications: (1) an earned doctorate (Ph.D.)Preferred Qualifications: (1) experience and demonstrated success in teaching undergraduate students; (2) ability to contribute to the educational mission of Jesuit higher education; and (3) the successful candidate should possess an awareness of and interest in high impact practices in line with the mission of Jesuit higher education.Deadline for receipt of all application materials is April 1, 2023.How to Apply: For more information about this position or to apply, please go to https://careers.loyola.edu.
