Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice

The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a regional campus of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five (35) miles south of Charlotte, NC seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in Criminal Justice beginning August 16, 2023.

The position requires a PhD in Criminal Justice or Criminology required by start date of employment. (ABDs considered) Candidates must have credentials necessary for departmental approval to teach foundational courses for freshmen and sophomore students, there are opportunities to teach upper-division courses in the University’s Palmetto College bachelor’s degree programs.

The position will normally require the teaching of twelve credit hours per semester or its equivalent. One course release a year is given for tenure-track faculty.

 Scholarship, advising, and university/community service are expected.

 Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

 Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at the university level.
