MEAP Program Manager
University of California Los Angeles

Requisition Number: 38429
Salary: $5,067 - $11,183 Monthly

Position Description:
Reporting to the Director of Modern Endangered Archives Program (DMEAP), the MEAP Program Manager serves as an outward facing liaison helping grant holders create meaningful and well documented digital collections, survey reports, and inventories. The MEAP Program Manager works closely with MEAP grantees around the world and strengthens relationships across the UCLA Library as part of our overall effort to support the documentation and digitization of at-risk cultural heritage collections. In particular, the MEAP Program Manager will manage operations related to grantee content, including: (1) Support for grantees to ensure successful results based on grant deliverables; (2) Quality control for all digital files and metadata; and (3) Publication of collection items on the MEAP Digital Repository.
The MEAP Program Manager takes responsibility for facilitating the creation and publication of digital collections related to grant funded projects. This includes regular (virtual) meetings and communication with grantees around the world to discuss project details and address challenges. The MEAP Program Manager will onboard newly funded projects, providing them with necessary resources, and serve as the point person for content related work throughout the grant period. This may include coordinating with UCLA Librarians and Library staff to identify solutions related to metadata creation, digitization workflows, and digital file preservation. The MEAP Program Manager will also facilitate quality control and publication for digital collections submitted by project teams.

The Modern Endangered Archives Program (MEAP) is an Arcadia-funded granting program. The program solicits proposals and awards grants annually to preserve at-risk cultural heritage content and make this content widely available through a UCLA-hosted website (meap.library.ucla.edu). MEAP is committed to expanding access to archival materials through post-custodial archiving and centering the voices of our community partners. The MEAP Program Manager will ensure our program puts these values into action as our portfolio grows.
