Description:

The Department of Biological & Biomedical Sciences is seeking to hire qualified individuals as full-time Lecturer; candidates with exceptional experience may be hired at the Senior or Master Lecturer level. These 10-month faculty positions are non-tenure track but offer renewable multi-year contracts. The positions require a teaching load of 24 credit hours per academic year with the opportunity to teach overload courses for additional compensation. Teaching assignments will be focused on a two-course sequence in Human Anatomy & Physiology, but may include other courses depending on departmental needs.

Successful candidates will be expected to perform course coordination in Human Anatomy & Physiology including re-envisioning course delivery mode, developing new lecture and laboratory exercises using modern pedagogical approaches, and oversight of graduate teaching fellows and adjunct instructors. Additional service may include department, college, and/or university-level committees, advising student clubs, and/or other student-focused activities.

Qualifications:
  • A master's degree or higher in biological sciences, or closely related discipline, is required. A Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. is strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of anatomy and physiology and expertise in best pedagogical practices
  • Prior teaching experience is expected
  • Ability to prepare and organize laboratory and demonstration materials
  • Strong ability to set priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to solve problems creatively in an evolving environment
