About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The Graduate Recruiting Specialist is a member of the Admissions team in the College of Engineering, reporting to the Director of Graduate Admissions. The Graduate Recruiting Specialist has responsibility for assisting with the admissions pipeline process and activities (driving inquiries to application) for the graduate engineering programs in the College of Engineering. The Graduate Recruiting Specialist participates in and supports the execution of pipeline support activities which include regular communication with inquiry and pre-application populations and responding to specific inquiries. The Specialist will liaise directly with the central Marketing and Communications team, working on brand-related content and ensuring seamless communications with students across the pipeline. They may participate in recruiting activities throughout the year both locally and those which may require travel, including corporate on-site visits and information sessions; graduate school fairs and forums; and university events. In addition, the Specialist will participate in implementing on- and off-campus recruiting and yield events including information sessions and open houses for admitted candidates. Aggressive and consistent admissions efforts are essential to increase the quantity and quality of admitted students. Generating lots of interest and leads is meaningless without consistent follow-through and moving applicants through the pipeline to application. In addition, the College of Engineering is committed to raising visibility by improving its position in the engineering school rankings. The efforts of the Graduate Recruiting Specialist will be critical in this regard.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required, MS or MBA preferred such as a graduate degree in higher education administration. At least three years' experience with preference given to candidates who have experience in graduate admission and recruiting. Candidates must demonstrate a professional presence and maturity in dealing with a variety of audiences, external and internal to the university. Excellent interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills are critical for success. Expertise in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and database management. Strong project management/organizational skills with attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to balance multiple demands from demanding constituencies. Creativity, positive

can-do attitude, flexibility, initiative, and ability to function effectively as member of a team. Responsive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement. Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends, as required.

The expected hiring range for this position is USD $50,520 to USD $78,310, based upon the position's scope and responsibilities.
