Title: Dean of Business and Technology

Job Summary:

The Dean is the chief administrative officer of the Division and oversees the overall planning, programming and evaluation of the academic division to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.

Job Duties:

Communicate with faculty by providing updates and conducting regular meetings to facilitate planning and informed decision-making. Provide leadership for divisional planning and the development and evaluation of instructional programs, including student learning outcomes assessment and academic program review. Provide primary input for division budget development, purchasing, and allocation of resources within the division. Monitor division staffing needs, adjust accordingly based on College needs, and provide primary input for division hiring. Supervise and evaluate division full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and staff at all campuses and online, encouraging excellence in teaching, service, and professional development. Manage class schedule development for the division at all campuses and online, including overseeing initial schedule design, monitoring enrollments during registration periods, and ensuring needed adjustments. Approve faculty load reports and monitor workload indicators for accuracy and balance. Work cooperatively with other administrators and managers to coordinate division programs and college services to meet student needs. Address, mediate, and resolve student complaints and concerns related to the division or refer to the appropriate department as needed. Oversee curriculum development as needed. Provide input for academic advising assignments within the division. Serve as divisional liaison to the College administration. Cultivate and facilitate academic and industry partnerships through regular communication with stakeholder groups. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new developments and innovations in community colleges and higher education and recommend improvements to programs and processes. React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned. In conjunction with the Administrator of Workforce Development, coordinates the college's Work Based Learning (WBL) program and promotes WBL opportunities to faculty and students. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Master's degree in a field taught within the Business and Technology Division or a related field.
A minimum of five years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

An earned Doctorate.
A minimum of three years of department chair or other supervisory experience in higher education.
Higher education teaching or work experience.
Community College experience.
Experience in teaching or administration of distance learning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proven leadership skills and excellent human relations skills.
Sensitivity to and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, staff, and other community members.
Strong communication and computer skills.

Pay Rate: $76,790 - $95,980 annual salary depending on experience
