Summary:


The Crummer Graduate School of Business Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship (CFAE) at Rollins College is seeking an Assistant Director! The Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship (CFAE) serves as the area resource responsible for positioning Rollins and the Crummer Graduate School of Business as a vital part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in greater Orlando, strategically aligned to support and promote entrepreneurial interest and activities within Rollins. The Assistant Director works with the Director to help create, manage and fulfill all programs that encompass the CFAE plan of work.

The primary purpose of the CFAE is to be a gateway to the "real world" of entrepreneurial business for students at Crummer. The CFAE educates and connects students with successful entrepreneurs, and likewise, does the same for entrepreneurs with each other. To supplement traditional classroom teaching, the CFAE is a bridge to the entrepreneurial marketplace for students, providing a variety of practical experiences, including workshops, competitions, mentoring programs, internships, consulting engagements with companies, innovative workspace, and speakers both in and out of the classroom. These programs are made possible through the active involvement of successful entrepreneurs and entrepreneur support organizations in the community. In exchange, the CFAE provides significant benefits and programs to the entrepreneurial community, including a pool of talented MBA graduates and advanced entrepreneurship learning opportunities.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Programming and Engagement
    • Manage all aspects of CFAE programming and initiatives, including:
    • Assist with the development of strategies and yearly goals for all core programs of CFAE.
    • Plan, manage, and track budgets for all programs of CFAE.
    • Create and execute marketing and communication plans including working with internal and/or outside resources.
    • Administration of grant dollars and required reports in conjunction with Crummer development team
    • Manage team responsible for execution and logistics of onsite CFAE events.
    • Manage Entrepreneurial Growth Series Program including sponsor prospecting and solicitation, fundraising, and selling of the program to participant business owners/CEOs.
    • Represent CFAE on the Athena PowerLink (APL) Governing Body.
    • Manage APL application and selection process.
    • Design and delivery of program orientation for new clients and volunteers of APL program.
    • Serve as a key advisor and/or lead on all APL client panels.
    • Represent CFAE on the venVelo II Board of Directors.
    • Manage Venture Plan and Elevator Pitch Competitions.
    • Support Venture Plan and Elevator Pitch Competition participants.
    • Advise the Crummer Entrepreneurship Association.
    • Manage the Entrepreneurial Scholar of Distinction Program.
    • Serve as advisor to Crummer and greater Rollins students, alumni and community entrepreneurs in relation to their entrepreneurial goals and objectives.
    • Utilize the entrepreneurial network to identify guest speakers, mentors, panelists, judges and potential candidates for Crummer's degreed and non-degreed offerings.
    • Ensure alignment with Crummer operational practices, events and networking opportunities, and communications with students, alumni and business partners.
  • Advocacy
    • Assist with the governance of the CFAE Advisory Board and its initiatives. The board is comprised of successful entrepreneurs representing a cross-section of companies and industries in Central Florida.
    • Represent CFAE in key entrepreneurial sectors including the startup and technology communities. This encompasses networking and assuming leadership positions in a variety of community organizations (e.g., Starter Studio, Entrepreneurs Alliance of Orlando, Orange County Advisory Board).
    • Educate current and graduating students about CFAE benefits and engage them in programs.
  • Cultivation
    • Cultivate strong relationships with all entrepreneurial-minded students, alumni, organizations, and other constituents of CFAE and the school.
    • Collaboration with the Director, the Dean and Advancement to build relationships and cultivation of high-capacity entrepreneurs.
    • Collaborate with Advancement to incorporate fundraising efforts into CFAE strategic engagements and communications.
    • Supervise the tracking and reporting (coding) of entrepreneur data (e.g., biographical and contact) and engagement through providing updates to relevant databases (e.g., CFAE mailing list, Banner) or similar systems. Generate reports as requested. Seek to enhance the depth of data available and work across Crummer to share and optimize the strategic use of the data.
  • General
    • Manage all fundraising, sponsorship, and activities of the CFAE and its programs.
    • Manage and mentor program manager and graduate assistants.
    • Develop a working relationship with all departments at Crummer and throughout Rollins College in delivering the mission of the school through the assets and resources of CFAE.
    • Collaborate with Admissions to involve CFAE in the admissions process.
    • Represent CFAE in various management meetings, committees, and initiatives at Crummer.
    • Collaborate with and serve as a liaison to undergraduate entrepreneurial programs.
    • Collaborate with other areas within the Student Success cluster (Career Resource Center, Student Services, and Leadership Development) ensuring alignment with operational practices, events and networking opportunities, and communications with students, alumni, and business partners.
    • Attend conferences as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
& Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent entrepreneurial/business experience with a degree.
  • Knowledge of greater Orlando entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Several years of related work experience.
  • Ability to advise early-stage and growth-stage entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and implementing strategic marketing and brand strategy plans that lead to specific, measurable results aligned with the organization's goals.
  • Thorough computer and technology literacy with the ability to manipulate complex data sets and generate meaningful representations.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable MVR are required.

Work Environment:
  • Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, working in an office environment.
  • Regular use of a computer and databases.
  • Travel and participate in various work-related events (local, domestic, and international).
  • Flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, may be required on an “as needed” basis.
  • Ability to lift to 20lbs.
