Academic Fieldwork Coordinator

Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Health Professions and Human Services, with work assigned by the Chairperson of the Department of Occupational Therapy, the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (Managing Assistant Director 3) manages and supervises all aspects of fieldwork coordination of the MS in Occupational Therapy program at Kean University. The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator manages fieldwork coordination of occupational therapy students; manages the recruitment and maintenance of fieldwork sites; participates in the development of goals, policies and procedures for the OT program; and does related work as required. The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator will be required to teach two in-load courses each semester (spring and fall) in addition to assigned managerial duties and responsibilities. This position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours and travel to fieldwork sites.

Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited college; valid license in the State of New Jersey as an Occupational Therapist; and two years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist is required. Previous experience supervising occupational therapy Level II Fieldwork student experiences and teaching experience is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Candidate must have knowledge of the guidelines of ACOTE programs and proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and database management.
