Purpose of Position

This position will have primary responsibility for building, managing and executing a strategic development program to support the priorities of the Haile College of Business, and will provide additional support across the university’s principal prospect portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects. Conduct prospect and donor visits; develop and execute cultivation plans, and deliver major gift proposals to solicit and secure gifts of $25,000 and above. Collaborate with Advancement Division colleagues to identify potential prospects, leverage university events to engage prospects and steward donors, and analyze major gift program progress and performance. Utilize university systems to record prospect and donor interactions, track proposals, and maintain prospect and donor contact information. Meet all deadlines for reporting.

Formulate annual and long-term fundraising goals, work with the Dean of the Haile College of Business and the AVP of Development to develop appropriate fundraising priorities, and develop and execute strategic development plans. Support college leaders in cultivating relationships with and informing the strategic involvement of key volunteers and prospects across various college, center, and program advisory boards in alignment with fundraising priorities

Serve as a senior development leader within the Division and assist the AVP with the strategic direction and growth of the program through participation in special projects, as assigned.

Advise the Dean, AVP, and other college leaders on external and development activities and important events and programs to attend; be a highly informed advocate for the college and the university inside and outside of campus.

Qualifications

The successful candidate for this role will be intellectually curious, possess a positive growth mindset and a keen understanding of and passion for the value of higher education, and be able to translate the priorities of faculty and academic leadership into a compelling philanthropic vision.

The successful candidate must also be able to balance leadership of self within both the college unit and the broader organization against expectations as an individual fundraising contributor. A strong track record of securing gifts or contracts valued at $25,000+, preferably in higher education, is required.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications, including Teams, is required and knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are also required.
