Position Overview:
Unity College is seeking enthusiastic individuals to teach Animal Health and Training courses for our online graduate degree programs. Graduate courses are online and run for eight weeks in five different terms.
- We are particularly interested in hiring adjunct faculty to develop and teach foundational courses in Animal Health and Behavior. Examples of courses to be instructed would be Animal Behavior & Modification, Advanced Animal Training, and Emotional Support & Service Animals: Rules & Regulations
- Courses are taught asynchronously with an average of 20 students per course.
Qualifications
Required
The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree (e.g. PhD) in the discipline or a masters degree with at least 5+ years of experience in the profession in addition to the following:
- Experience with online teaching and previous use of Canvas is desirable.
- Prior experience with field work in Animal and Training and Behavior, including habitat construction and management.
- Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.
- Personal commitment to the environmental focus and mission of the college.
Unity Colleges distance education curriculum is 100% online. Our Distance Education Adjuncts will teach remotely.
