Summary of Job Duties:The general purpose of this position is to teach Native American, African American, Women’s, and general history survey courses. The position reports to Department Head.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Work Experience: PhD in History or relevant field with college level teaching experience required.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary functions of this job are to teach classes in the area of specialization as well as general survey courses.
- Advise students
- Maintain an active research agenda
- Serve as needed on campus committees
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:
- The ability to function in an academic office environment
- Good communication skills
Working Relationships: The employee will primarily interact with students, other faculty, and staff.
