Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Financial Management, the Coordinator of Financial Management will be an integral member of the fiscal training team in the Office of Financial Management. The Coordinator will serve the university community in the advancement of departmental objectives and university strategic initiatives in the following areas:

- Work collaboratively with other university training and professional development groups to ensure the mission of continuous learning and achievement of best practices in financial management is upheld.
- Contribute to the fiscal training initiative, aimed at providing multiple levels of fiscal training to university employees through instructor led, virtual classroom, and eLearning environments.
- The Coordinator will assist in course design, curriculum development, instruction, assessment design, and evaluation for courses provided by the fiscal training team, with a key focus on training program analytics and university systems trainings.
- Provide ad hoc training sessions for individuals, groups, and/or other university departments to assist in understanding and applying best practices related to university fiscal and business activities.
- Support the continuous and ongoing improvement of financial and administrative operations.
- Coordinator will participate on project teams to explore, develop, and implement enterprise-wide financial and administrative best practices improvement programs. Such programs may include redesign or introduction of new business processes and practices, policy evaluations and adjustments, and tools to promote effective and compliant execution of processes, procedures, and policies.
- Maintain and create training resources and materials by attending other university sponsored training, pursing professional development opportunities, and actively communicating with content experts.
- Develop analytical tools and data repositories to assist with training program maintenance, accuracy, and reporting. Assist with maintenance and record retention for internal department compliance requirements.
- Lead the development of trainings for ad-hoc trainings for newly acquired, deployed, or modified technology and applications within the finance division.
- Contribute to the development of financial and administrative data analysis efforts. This may include data extraction, wrangling, modeling, and development of reports or visualizations.
- Provide secondary support to the Office of Financial Management for administrative duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field; or a bachelor’s degree and significant experience in education, learning management, or business.
• Knowledge or demonstrated experience in presentation design and/or instruction.
• Demonstrated experience in the field of data analysis.
• Experience with utilizing public speaking, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated level of independent judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated experience creating courses or trainings using proven instructional design principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge in an array of learning strategies and compelling course content, aimed to maximize both learner motivation and learner application.
• Experience working with subject matter experts to identify training goals and objectives.
• Knowledge in modes of assessment, including tests and/or quizzes, to measure module effectiveness.
• Experience with higher education systems related to financial administration.
• Knowledge of university, college, and financial policies and procedures relevant to compliance.
• Experience or knowledge of data analytics, technology, and/or program analytics.
