Assistant Professor of Theatre

The Department of Theatre at Monmouth College (Illinois) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Theatre at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2023. Area of specialization is design and technology. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and collaborative colleague with competence in scenic, lighting, and sound design, as well as in technical direction. Required qualification: M.F.A. by August 15, 2023.

Essential job duties:

• teaching classes in technical theatre, design, and introduction to theatre
• designing/supervising design for the four-show production season
• supervising student workers in classes and during shop hours
• advising and mentoring
• recruiting
• contributing to institutional service
• maintaining creative and/or scholarly activity

Salary range is $50,000 to $52,000. Cost of living in Monmouth and surrounding communities is lower than in most U.S. cities. Monmouth College offers an attractive benefit package, including retirement plan, health and dental insurance plan, and certain tuition benefits for eligible dependents.
