Landmark College (LC) is highly entrepreneurial college for neurodivergent students with learning differences (LD; including dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and executive function challenges). Whether at the Putney, Vermont flagship campus, through LC Online, or at our west coast Success Center, Landmark is a traditional, fully accredited institution that provides an intentionally designed, resource-rich academic and student life model.
The College is in a programmatic and enrollment growth phase for its residential and LC Online programs, including the STEM areas. Specifically, LC seeks a full-time Assistant Professor in Chemistry (or a related field such as biochemistry, biomedical sciences, et al.) to start Fall Semester 2023. The successful candidate will primarily teach a range of undergraduate chemistry-based courses to support our Life Science program and will also deliver non-major STEM courses. Courses may include introductory courses for non-majors to advanced courses in their area(s) of interest and expertise. All courses may be offered as in-person and/or online modalities; however, this position is based at and on the Putney, Vermont campus. An ability and willingness to develop a discovery research program that involves our undergraduate students is highly desirable.
To be a faculty member at Landmark College is to be dedicated to a variety of pedagogical approaches which allow students to achieve standards of academic success comparable to more conventional institutions. Located within the broader tri-state cultural region of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Northwest Massachusetts, our beautiful southern Vermont campus is also within easy driving distance to several major cities like Boston and New York. If you aspire to teach in your field while making a difference in the liv.es of neurodiverse students, Landmark is the right place for you.
A terminal degree or commensurate experience in the discipline or a closely related field is required. A working understanding of the nature of neurodiversity leading to LD and teaching experience at the college level, whether in person or online, are also highly desirable. We are intentionally building a community that is diverse in areas including and not limited to ethnicity, gender, gender identity, national origin, neurodiversity, physical ability, race, and religion.
Interested individuals should provide a cover letter, resume or CV, and the names of three references. Electronic submissions are preferred. Please email your application to humanresources@landmark.edu. Applications may also be mailed to Director of Human Resources, Landmark College, 19 River Road South, Putney, Vermont 05346. No phone calls please.
Diversifying the student body, faculty, and administration is congruent with our mission. We value diverse populations and cultures including, but not limited to, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, national origin, neurodiversity, race, and religion. Landmark College is an EO/AA/Vet/Disability employer.
